Axalta Coating Systems (AXTA): Top Stock Ready to Rise in 2025

In my 2025 Stock Market Outlook I concentrated on what stocks are likely to benefit the most from the Fed lowering rates. History shows that you want economically sensitive stocks and that points to industrials as one of the best choices. 

And in the industrial space I could not find a better stock than Axalta Coating Systems (AXTA).

As their name implies, they are a leading player in the coatings arena. They had a bit of an earnings stumble back in 2022 when rates first went higher and the economy did go negative for a couple quarters. 

Gladly that weakness has been corrected leading to 4 straight earnings beats with future estimates nicely on the rise. In other words, they are showing off some tremendous earnings momentum which explains why shares are on the rise…and should continue their ascent into the year ahead. 

Wall Street analysts are certainly taking note of the fundamental momentum at play. The average target is well above current levels. Even better, some top analysts see shares progressing even higher.

$45 target from John McNulty @ BMO Capital (Top 16%)

Let’s remember that industrials benefit the most from lower rates as they are often the most indebted firms. So as rates go lower…the cost of borrowing goes down making it more attractive to invest in their business. This typically leads to a surge in growth. 

This means that the current earnings outlook may be far too conservative and thus upside for AXTA shares is likely much more than advertised. My bet is that AXTA is over $50 by the end of 2025 and has a real shot at doubling by end of 2026. 

Yes, there are more riveting growth stories out there, but they likely come with much more risk.

Sometimes investing can be simple. As in, rising earnings begets higher share price. 

Consider pressing the easy button by purchasing shares of AXTA to see them coat more profits in your portfolio in the days ahead.
